The village is like a maze of narrow streets and steps that lead up to a fortified settlement, which is great for getting lost. The accommodations are air-conditioned and have free WiFi, perfect for posting envy-inducing vacation pictures on social media.
Oh, just a minor inconvenience, having to climb uphill for a bit. But hey, at least it's a good workout for those who daren't miss out on their fitness routine while on vacation.

The breakfast selection could have been better with more variety.

Loved staying at this lovely, centrally located apartment! It had a quaint and authentic feel, just like living in a traditional Greek house. The rooftop view during sunrise and sunset was absolutely spectacular. The host, Dimitra, provided excellent hospitality and even left us with a complimentary bottle of wine and Easter goodies. The apartment was well-stocked with everything we needed, including a well-appointed kitchen and a dehumidifier to ensure our towels stayed dry in the humid weather. The location was perfect, with the main square and popular restaurants just a few minutes' walk away. Exploring Santorini from Pyrgos was ideal, with easy access to Fira and Oia by bus or car. The nearby winery offered stunning views, especially at sunset. I highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful and authentic Santorini experience.

the beautiful and comfortable house had a fully equipped kitchen, including a Nespresso machine with tea and coffee pods provided. the towels actually dried well thanks to the dehumidifier, and the drying racks on the roof came in handy. the location was perfect, just a 2-minute walk from the main square and popular restaurants like Penelope’s ouzeri. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby village of Metaxi Mas. Pyrgos is a wonderful and authentic destination, offering a more affordable and local experience compared to the crowded villages on the caldera. Lastly, Dimitra, our host, was amazing! She was responsive, helpful, and even left us a complimentary bottle of wine and Easter goodies. Cons: Could not be improved in any way! 🌟.

We had the most enchanting stay at Olyra Traditional Cave Houses. The historic town of Pyrgos offered a true taste of local life, and the cave houses were a beautiful and unusual experience. We loved relaxing in our own yard, watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The interior was cool and comfortable, and we were delighted to find thoughtful touches like water, wine, and even bread and cheese waiting for us. The rooftop deck provided stunning views and added to the charm of our stay. Dimitra, our host, was incredibly kind and hospitable, making sure we had everything we needed. We truly felt like we traveled back in time and lived like locals. Despite the charming cobblestone paths leading to the house, which added to its authenticity, we didn't mind the trek. It was worth it to be away from the crowds and experience the true beauty of Pyrgos. we highly recommend Olyra Traditional Cave Houses for a unique and memorable stay.
